Towards a Brave Future
As the saying goes, “Life is not always smooth sailing.” This is especially true for the children and youths we serve. Many of them are struggling in school, trying to meet expectations, and dealing with pressures that may lead them towards harmful choices. Some of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds. At such a young age, these difficulties can weigh heavily on them and affect their confidence, decisions, and future.
We are here to equip them with the courage and resilience they need to navigate these challenges. With mentorship and guidance, they can develop their strengths and potential. We also provide new experiences and opportunities that they might not otherwise have. Our hope is to broaden their horizons and open their eyes to a world of possibilities, including a future they can be proud of.
And they will not feel alone, because we also help them foster positive relationships with friends and mentors who care. Together, we can be the steady anchor and guiding light for these children and youths as they find their way forward.
Towards a Brave Future is about being there for them through life’s storms and successes. Every young person can steer their lives towards a bright future, if we would only be the wind in their sails.

The GRIT Project
In 2025, we served 658 children & 365 youths
The GRIT Project (TGP) nurtures a caring generation to serve the community. It addresses the needs of children and youths aged 7 to 17, including those from disadvantaged families.
Through fun-filled and engaging activities, TGP provides a safe space for self-discovery and empowerment so they can grow to be confident, competent, connected, caring, and of good character.
Reading Intervention Services
In 2025, we taught 153 children to read
Reading Intervention Services (RIS) serves children aged 4 to 8, including those from low-income families. We help them learn to read at an age-appropriate level and cultivate good reading habits.
Through reading programmes, storytelling, crafts, audio-visuals, songs, play, and phonics lessons, they learn skills and strategies for reading, comprehension, and speaking, children develop their self-esteem and gain confidence, thereby translating to academic success at school.
Lakeside Student Care
In 2025, we provided quality care for 209 children
Lakeside Student Care (Jurong East and Jurong West) provides after-school care, meals, and homework help for children aged 7 to 12, including those from disadvantaged families.
We teach them to be responsible and independent from an early age, and provide them with meaningful and fun-filled learning opportunities.

Donate $200 to fund 2 months’ youth activities and sports for engagement with an at-risk youth
Donate $1,000 to fund 1 month’s individualised reading intervention services for 5 children from low-income families with learning difficulties
Donate $5,000 to provide 3 troubled youths with 1 year’s mentoring and guidance to develop confidence, character and self-esteem
