What inspires someone to leave a comfortable, well-paying career in education administration to care for primary school children every afternoon?

For Teacher Siew Mun, it was a heartfelt leap of faith.

While taking a career break from her role leading admissions and examinations at a polytechnic, Siew Mun volunteered with Lakeside’s reading programme. Seeing how consistent patience and encouragement helped young learners blossom, she realised where she truly wanted to be: on the ground, journeying alongside children during their most formative years.

At Lakeside Student Care, our mission goes far beyond homework supervision. We provide holistic care for children aged 7 to 12. For many families who work long hours or lack strong support systems at home, Lakeside is a vital sanctuary where children receive nutritious meals, character mentorship, and emotional safety.
