Marriage & Family Counselling

When issues are long-drawn and difficult to resolve, it can feel overwhelming. We encourage individuals, couples and families to come forward early to discuss their challenges so that relationship issues do not fester and deteriorate.

FAM (Lakeside Family Services) supports individuals, couples and families residing in Jurong East, Clementi, and Queenstown who are facing distress and conflicts due to family-related issues. Some of these issues may include:

  • Pre-marital counselling
  • Marital reconciliation
  • Clarity in deciding the future of marriage (Discernment Counselling)
  • Pre- and post-divorce counselling
  • Counselling for any individual (adult or child) facing socio-emotional issues

 

All services provided at FAM (Lakeside Family Services) are free-of-charge and are open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents or Non-Residents with a Singapore nexus (defined as having a family member who is a Singapore Citizen or a Permanent Resident). Click here to download the e-flyer.

If you wish to register for our counselling services, you may follow the steps below to book an appointment:

Step 1

Visit https://familyassist.msf.gov.sg and select “Click here for Counselling Services”. (Blue box on the right side of the page for desktop users, or at the top for mobile users).

Step 2

Complete the online questionnaire. If you select “face-to-face” as your preferred counselling mode, you will be prompted to log in via Singpass before being directed to a BookingSG website for booking of your appointment with a FAM agency.

On BookingSG, select your preferred FAM agency and available time slot. Please note that the first session will be an intake session conducted online. Subsequent sessions can be held in-person or online.

Step 3

After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email from notifications@booking.gov.sg. A Zoom link for your intake session will be sent to you closer to the appointment date.

Strengthening Families Programme or FAM for short, provides counselling on family-related issues and divorce support services for families. It is an initiative led by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and is part of MSF’s continuum of family programmes and services. For private marital counselling services, you may reach out to our Marriage Support Services (MSS). MSS is made up of a team of marital and family therapists committed to the vision that strong marriages form the bedrock of strong families. Sessions are by appointment only and our services are also available through online platforms.

Fees are charged at:
Till 31 July 2025: $130 per session (inclusive of GST)
From 1 August 2025: $160 per hour (inclusive of GST)
