Mdm Suriah

At 78, Mdm Suriah, a mother of three and grandmother of six, has been living alone since the passing of her spouse two months ago. Despite the loss, she has found companionship and support through our Kaki Kampong Seniors Wellness (KKSW)’s Community Befriending Programme.

She enjoys fortnightly visits from our dedicated senior volunteer Mdm Rokiah, as well as enthusiastic student volunteers from River Valley High School. They brighten her days by playing traditional games, chatting, and sharing meals with her, bringing joy back into her life.

Understanding her needs beyond companionship, KKSW staff Peter organised a team of volunteers to help clean her home. This thoughtful gesture made Madam Suriah feel deeply valued and supported by the KKSW community.

To help more seniors like Madam Suriah to receive the warmth and care they need, consider supporting our #TheGoldenYears (Season of Giving) campaign. Donations raised from this campaign will enable us to continue running programmes that uplift our seniors at KKSW. You can donate and enjoy 250% tax deduction on your donation here: https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/donate/sog-the-golden-years/
