Every step counts. Every dream matters.
Small Steps, Big Dreams
Everyone desires purpose and hope, including the children, youths, seniors, and ex-inmates we serve.
Children take their first steps toward discovering their potential and grow with guidance. Youths step forward to contribute, learning from those before them and shaping the future.
Seniors step up to share their wisdom and experiences, showing that every stage of life holds value. Ex-inmates take courageous steps toward a fresh start as they rebuild their lives and find purpose again.
Every step, no matter how small, brings them closer to a future filled with hope and opportunity. When you walk with our beneficiaries, you uplift them and help turn their dreams into reality.

The GRIT Project

In 2024, we served 613 children & 273 youths
The GRIT Project (TGP) nurtures a caring generation to serve the community. It addresses the needs of children and youths aged 7 to 17, including those from disadvantaged families.
Reading Intervention Services

In 2024, we taught 161 children to read
Reading Intervention Services (RIS) serves children aged 4 to 8, including those from low-income families. We help them learn to read at an age-appropriate level and cultivate good reading habits.
Lakeside Student Care

In 2024, we provided quality care for 213 children
Lakeside Student Care (Jurong East and Jurong West) provides after-school care, meals, and homework help for children aged 7 to 12, including those from disadvantaged families.
Kaki Kampong Seniors Wellness

In 2024, we served 300 seniors
Kaki Kampong Seniors Wellness (KKSW) promotes holistic wellness in seniors aged 50 and above, empowering them to take charge of their lives and well-being.
KKSW keeps the kampong spirit alive by encouraging seniors to do good in the community. Active seniors reach out to isolated and vulnerable seniors, strengthening community bonds through peer-to-peer volunteering. Volunteering also helps seniors maintain an active lifestyle and a positive mindset.
KKSW runs interest groups, and organises outings, events, and celebrations for seniors.
TJ Haven (Prison Support Services)

In 2024, we served 3,926 inmates and their families
Taman Jurong Haven (TJH) provides services to the incarcerated, ex-inmates, and their families through in-care and after-care programmes.
We foster reconciliation, restoration, and reintegration by inspiring hope, reconnecting families, and journeying with them through challenging times.
Small Steps, Big Dreams Walk

“I started my social work career in 1992 at Lakeside Family Services, reaching out to disadvantaged children, youths, seniors, families, and prisoners. Join me as we walk across generations, visiting each of our centres to see what Lakeside has been doing the past 32 years.
For the sixth year in a row, I will be leading the overnight walk – this time, a 25km walk beginning in Jurong and ending at our new Centre in Clementi.
This Walk is part of our upcoming Small Steps, Big Dreams campaign in May.“
Teo Tee Loon, Executive Director
